It doesn't require specific software support to run. It has RXD and TXD lights making it easy to monitor communications passing through it. It requires no configuration and it is powered from the RS232 and RS485 ports. You can connect several 5001 converters to the same communications bus.

It can run at any baudrate between 300 - 115200 Baud, and the baudrate is set automatically when data is received. It even has automatic flow control! The 5001 allows your computer to communicate with remote devices up to 1.2km away.
